About Me

Portrait photo of Arun Kumar

Hi, I’m Arun Kumar — a software techie by trade, a finance educator by necessity.

I didn’t set out to write about money. A not-so-good investment decision changed that — the kind that looks obvious in hindsight but felt reasonable at the time. It cost me money and time I couldn’t easily replace, and it forced me to actually learn the basics of finance — how compounding, debt, inflation, and investing work — not as headlines, but as mechanics.

That learning became the Money Tree framework. It’s built on the banyan tree: an unremarkable seed that shows nothing for years, then sends down roots that fuse into a structure strong enough to outlive its host. That’s what patient, consistent investing looks like too — slow, then suddenly structural. My goal is to help salaried professionals tell the difference between what grows wealth and what quietly drains it.

Here you’ll find finance concepts explained not in a textbook, theoretical format, but as practical, psychology-driven education.

Outside of this, I’m usually reading self-help, productivity, or finance books, or mid-way through a high-intensity workout. Same principle either way: show up consistently, long before you see results.

Note: I’m not a licensed financial advisor. This is financial education, not advice — please verify before acting.
